Where to find your car rental provider at Brisbane Airport
Whether you’re disembarking a domestic flight or a long-haul journey from the other side of the world, you don’t want to get lost when you arrive.
The good news is that most car rental providers are onsite.

After greeting you with a warm welcome, our staff will answer your questions, request your documentation (including your driver’s licence), present your keys and take you to your SIXT car rental.

Driving in Queensland: Essential tips for international drivers
Never driven in Australia before? Or maybe it’s been a while, and you need to brush up on the road rules?
Driving in Queensland is pretty straightforward (and a lot of fun), but there’s a few things you should know.
First, like a small number of other countries, we drive on the left, and overtake on the right. Our speed limits, measured in kilometres per hour, are mandatory.
It’s illegal to use a mobile phone while driving, unless it’s hands-free, and passengers are required to wear seat belts.
Also against the law is drink driving – and, if you’re caught, you could find yourself with a criminal record. The blood alcohol limit for most drivers is 0.05% – and, for some, it’s even lower.
Petrol stations near Brisbane Airport
It’s a good idea to refuel on your way back to Brisbane Airport. That way, you’ll save time and avoid paying any refuel fees to you car rental provider.
There are at least three petrol stations nearby. You’ll find BP on Airport Drive, Caltex Woolworths on Nudgee Road and Shell Coles Express on Kingsford Smith Drive.
Pick-ups and drop-offs at Brisbane Airport
Picking up and dropping off your rental vehicle at Brisbane Airport is pretty straightforward.
At both ends, take a few photos of the car, so you have a record of its condition, both before and after driving.
To return any SIXT vehicle, follow the signs marked “rental returns” (on signs and in-lane). SIXT Brisbane Airport is at the very end of Moreton Drive all the way to the end.
Please park in one of our designated bays, then leave your keys with our staff. Or, if you’re arriving after hours, pop them in the drop box. In the domestic terminal, you’ll find it on the pillar next to the SIXT branch. In the international terminals, it’s on the SIXT desk in arrivals on level 2.
