A Tesla is not difficult to charge, but can be daunting for customers doing it for the first time. If you’re uncertain, a friendly SIXT staff member will happily take you through how the vehicle operates when you pick up your rental. Specific instructions can also be found on the Tesla website.
At the moment we have a Tesla Model 3 in our fleet and it can travel more than 500km on a single charge. We’re looking to expand our fleet of Teslas and will be introducing the Model Y in late 2022 and early 2023, so in future you’ll have a few different models to choose from.
This depends on the type of charger you use. Plugging in at home using a regular wall socket is the slowest method, but your Tesla will reach full charge overnight. A public DC fast charger can provide 80% charge in around 30 minutes.
Charging locations are best found using the plugshare app. Remember to look for Chargefox chargers to receive free charging when you rent with SIXT.
