Second time renting from SIXT and the service was great. The only significant issue I had this time was the fact that I could not receive a confirmation on my reservation. My 1st reservation with SIXT was for a BMW 8 series in LA and this time, I had attempted to reserve a convertible BMW 4 series a few weeks in advance. The reservation I initially made at this Waikiki location was deleted within a week of making it. When I inquired about it, at representative stated that that happens sometimes when a car is unavailable but they still listed it as available online. So, I tried to make another reservation. This time the pending booking remained on my app but when I physically visited the location 2 days prior to the reservation, I was told that I would have to check back a day before but someone should contact me when it's confirmed.
I showed up the day of the reservation and sure enough, the vehicle was not available. They gave me a choice of whatever they had either a Mustang or a Jeep. I took the JEEP. I had to return to the location later to add my wife as a second driver and also ask them to help with connecting my phone to the car GPS. I had successfully done so in many other rentals but for some reason, could not on this car. The representative was very helpful but could not get my phone to connect. after 40min I had to leave but the representative then tells me that the BMW became available and he could switch me out. Really? It just became available and you didn't know ahead of time? Anyway, I didn't have time and just took the JEEP for the day. The car and rental and return went smoothly. I just wish we could have received the car that they had advertised online.
I would still look for SIXT for my next rental car needs though.
